Perception and public speaking.

Introduction to Performing Literature

Testimonials
The workshops she provided were engaging, informational, and fun. She kept the PS captivated during the entire sessions. She assisted in showing them how to use their own voice in public speaking. This really helped the Presidential Scholars feel more comfortable in their public speaking. They did not feel like they had to be someone else when speaking in public. They felt that they were enough and that their stories were compelling enough to share with others.
All of the PS enjoyed both workshops and appreciated the way in which Professor Shaunte explained and demonstrated public speaking. Her approach was very inclusive and allowed for the diversity of each PS to show up in their public speaking, in sharing their stories with others, and in their elevator pitches.
She is amazing and I hope she has time next semester to work with our new Presidential Scholars.

Shaunté's workshop on inclusion for our students was revolutionary! It changed the way we view theatre productions and how our students interact with us. Our students were amazed and we were amazed. We loved it so much we rearranged our conference schedule to add another session so more people could attend her workshop. AND, we already asked her to come back next year!

Shaunté did a series of 3 workshops for our student leaders. They were engaging, successful, and the students loved them! They kept coming back with more questions and requesting more activities with her. We have already booked her for 6 more for next year!

Good morning,
I hope you are doing well. I wanted to send you a note to say THANK YOU so much for all of your assistance in preparing for my CSU Statewide Competition Presentation.
I won 1st place in the Health, Nutrition, and Clinical Sciences Undergraduate and Graduate division. I must admit I was nervous when I found out I was competing against both undergrad and graduates, but it all went so well. Thank you for all of the presentation tips, advice, and confidence.
I could not have done it without you.

Shaunté coached me to my first three speech championships, my Berkley research award, my undergraduate honors research presentation, and my graduate school entrance interviews, submissions, and presentations. I have been able to present at conferences because of her coaching. I am going to graduate school now because of her. I could not have done any of this without her. I am so grateful for her coaching.

We loved having her speak to our women's group. She gave an encouraging message of survival and how it is possible for everyone to achieve. Everyone kept asking when she would be coming back again. She was so energetic and engaging.

Her message about identity and self was exactly what our girls needed to hear. They could not stop talking about it for days to come. It was so inspiring for them as well as us. We all learned so much from her. And it wasn't just what she said, it was the way she said it. It was as if she was able to connect with each of us individually. It really made such a difference having her speak.
